Spanish manager boss Julen Lopetegui has left Wolverhampton Wanderers just three days before the commencement of the English Premier League season.
The former Real Madrid manager joined Wolves in January when the club were bottom of the Premier League table and led them to 11th position at the end of the season.
The 56-year-old has repeatedly expressed frustration at the club lack of activity in the transfer market and at some stage last season demanded more commitment from the management.
In a statement on Wednesday, Wolves said both parties had “accepted their differences of opinion on certain issues and agreed that an amicable end to the Spaniard contract was the best solution.”
The Midland club has lined up ex-Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil as the new manager ahead of Monday’s opening day encounter with Manchester United.
