During a press briefing at the Ningi LGA Area Command, Commissioner Muhammad stated that the suspected kidnappers, who had targeted three villages around Ningi, including Bukutumbe, Iyayi, Kayadda, and Gamji village, were responsible for shooting four people and killing a member of a vigilante group at Bukutumbe, the criminals then proceeded to Kiyawa LGA in Jigawa State, where they kidnapped two wives of the Kiyawa LGA Chairman.

The intense encounter with the bandits resulted in the recovery of two AK47 rifles, 55 live ammunition, four empty magazines, N4,580,000 in cash, one Golf three-vehicle, seven new Airtel SIM cards, and 190 pieces of recharge cards for both MTN and Airtel networks.

The Commissioner highlighted the success of the command’s counter-kidnapping strategies, expressing gratitude for the collaborative efforts with quasi-security outfits like Ahmed Ali Kwara. He emphasized that the operation, conducted on December 26, 2023, at about 4.03 am, successfully neutralized six kidnappers and dismantled their syndicates.

Commissioner Muhammad recalled a previous incident in July 2023, where eight people, including the traditional ruler of Kada and Gamji village, were killed, and residents were kidnapped.
