Maritime Security: US Company Swiftship Donates Unmanned Vessels To Nigeria

Swiftship, a US-based military manufacturing company, has generously contributed two cutting-edge unmanned water vessels, known as S2 and S3 Swift Sea Stalkers, to the Nigerian government.

The donation was made during a recent visit by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, who had traveled to the United States to inspect the facilities of advanced military hardware manufacturing companies.

Presenting the unmanned vessels to President Bola Tinubu, the minister emphasized their significance in bolstering the nation’s maritime security.

He stated that the equipment would be deployed in critical areas, including the Niger Delta, Lake Chad region, and various maritime zones, to combat insecurity.

The Ministry’s Director of Press, Henshaw Ogubike, revealed in a statement on Friday that the Minister’s visit aimed to explore innovative technologies that could enhance the efficiency of the Nigerian military in addressing contemporary security challenges.
