Nigerian Army: 113 Generals Retire, Defence Minister Calls For Armed Forces’ Loyalty

113 high-ranking Nigerian Army officers bid farewell to their military service on Tuesday.

The retired officers include one General, one Lieutenant General, 67 Major Generals, and 44 Brigadier Generals.

During the Regimental Dinner Night held in Abuja to honor the retiring officers, Defence Minister Abubakar Badaru commended the Nigerian Army for its crucial role in supporting democracy.

Badaru highlighted the Army’s exemplary status in the West African region and encouraged other regional services to emulate its commitment.

Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the National Assembly, and the defence minister for their unwavering support.

Lagbaja advised the retired officers to appreciate God and the Nigerian Army for their successful careers in the noble profession of arms, reaching the point of meritorious disengagement from active service.
